Enjoy a free drawing session with Nottingham-based illustrator Hannah Sawtell, inspired by the work of Dame Laura Knight—one of NTU’s most renowned alumna.

Known for her vivid depictions of theatre, circus performers and everyday life, Knight’s work encourages close observation and expressive mark-making. Whether familiar with or new to drawing, in this session, Hannah will guide you through different approaches to this style of drawing, incorporating a range of mixed media.

No previous experience is required and all materials are provided.

This event is organised by NTU Arts – the University’s extra-curricular arts programme.

Student tips

Thoughts and advice from current students on your first few days with us.

I would strongly suggest finding out about the support that the University offer throughout the year, such as the employability team and library. It may seem silly learning about this early on, but with the intensity of a masters course being prepared and knowing where to turn to for career advice and CV writing is a must.

Law can be very content-heavy and difficult to navigate through notes etc at the end of each term. By separating different topics, your life is made far easier in an instant.
